Good morning 1st hour! This is just for you...
Below you will find an extra copy of the directions as well as
the website you need to get started.
DIRECTIONS:
- Choose one of the REGIONS in Europe. You cannot choose a region that someone next to you has. The region you chose is _________________________________________________.
- Click on the Geo Explorer link on Mrs. Paras’ website to learn about
the geography, culture and history of five countries in your region.
- Once you are on the Geo Explorer/Tour Operator site, you will need to type
your name into the space provided then click “start”. You need to
do this because you will be taking notes on the website and printing them later for yourself and for Mrs. Paras. (You need to do this to gain credit for the assignment.)
- Next, click on “Europe” then click on the first country of your choice in the region listed above. (If you need to use your book to refresh your memory about what goes where.) As you go, list your countries here:

- In the next screen you should see a map of the country, a notes tab and an information
section. Click on the “notes” tab and a piece of paper will pop out
for you to write on. Read through the facts and summarize them on the notebook
page. You will end up printing this for
credit, so do a good job J
- Once you finish the first country, move on to your second. Be sure to stay within your region. You move on to your second
country (and the ones thereafter) by clicking the “X” next to the country’s name, clicking off of the enlarged
country and then using the map of Europe, clicking ON your next country.
- Repeat step 5 until you have completed 5 countries. You can review your notes by clicking on “Review Your Notes.”
- Click on “Finish” then “print.” Please print two copies. One for you and one for Mrs. Paras.
- Answer the following questions on the back of the notes sheet that you will
turn in to Mrs. Paras:
1.) What do these countries have in common?
2.) How are they different?
3.) How influential do you think physical geography
is in producing regional differences?
4.) Which country did you find most interesting?
5.) Why was this the most interesting?
